Title:  It's Time for a Revival

Verses:  2 Chronicles 7:11-16

We are living in a confused and corrupt time: murder, fraud, stealing, etc. It is time for a 
revival. "Our greatest need is not more men, money, or methods, but for a spiritual revival."
True revival will change the way we walk and the way that we talk. We will not be the same
afterward. 

In the Scripture, we see that Solomon has completed the temple, brought in holy treausure
[sacred chest],  spoke to the people, and prayed his prayer. Dedicated the temple.

God showed up and burned up the offerings. The glory of the Lord filled the temple. So 
much of His presence was in the temple that the preachers could not enter.

The children of Israel had a 14 day celebration...On the 23rd day they were STILL hanging
out at the temple. Solomon had to tell them to go home. When the people thought about 
what could have been, how it could be, etc. they were just thankful and wanted to be around.
We should take a lesson from them...celebrate because we made it to see another Sunday
morning.

God showed up in Solomon's dream and told him that He had chosen that particular temple.
Solomon's temple would be the temple from which sacrifices would be offered. Then God
posed a question...."What if all the rain stopped or the locust came and ate all the crops?
What if many people began to suffer with a deadly disease? Would you still celebrate and 
praise?"

"In everything, give thanks, because this is the will of God concerning you."

Why has there been no reall revival yet? Because there has been no turning. Turn from your
wicked ways. Turn your life around and stop doing the old things that you used to. When we
do, He will send a healing over all of the land.

Verse 14 - God's Requirements for National Blessings...the road to revival.



We Must Start Here to Get a True Revival:
1. Revive Humility. Humble ourselves. Meekness.
2. Revive Our Prayer Life. Pray without cease. Pray all season: good and bad.  Little prayer, 
     little power. Much prayer, much power.
3. Revive Our Spirit. Seek God's face.
4. Revive a Spirit of Obedience. "Turn". Complete 180. Turn from our wicked ways. See 
      Deutoronomy 28 - "Harken diligently...."



Main Points:  It is time for a real revival! We must turn from our wicked ways so that He can 
                     heal our country and forgive us for past mistakes.
